CURRICULM VITAE

BIOGRAPHY

Sculptor (Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze).
After working in dance and theatre, she turned to the figurative arts focusing on the theme of perspective and anamorphosis accompanied by an in-depth study of optical distortion in sculpture.

Her reflection on the relationship between vision and object, between the two dimensions of the image and the three dimensions of sculpture (2D – 3D) has led to the creation of works in a wide range of materials, traditional and otherwise, including video installations. The image is taken as a point of departure for a shape that develops through space in a rhythmic, dynamic manner. A sense of motion predominates and this enters into resonance with the motion of the observer walking around the work.

Collaboration with the Museo Galileo – Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza in Florence has been of major importance. Together with Gianni Miglietta, she has realised installations for various national and international exhibitions (starting in 2001 with In the Sign of Masaccio. The Invention of Perspective, Florence, Galleria degli Uffizi) and workshops on the theme of the relationship between vision and representation, art and science.

She collaborates regularly with the Facoltà di Architettura di Firenze, corso di Geometria Descrittiva.

The Opificio delle Pietre Dure has also asked her to provide consultancy regarding the perspective of the bas-reliefs of Donatello’s Pulpiti in San Lorenzo, in Florence, and also regarding the proportions of Brescia’s Vittoria Alata.

From 2020 her research has found expression in small, unique wearable sculptures which are jewels realized in silver, non-precious metals and 3D printed.

She is represented by Galerie BOA, Paris; NAG Art Gallery, Pietrasanta.
